The Yalasarat weekly has published its latest issue despite an announcement by the Press Supervisory Board that the paper’s licence was suspended for publishing insults against a government figure.

Yalasarat, a weekly published by the extremist group Ansar-e Hezbollah, published an article that used sexual insults to describe the president’s advisor on Women and Family Affairs, Shahindokht Molaverdi, and her collaboration with women’s rights activists.

The actions of the weekly were reviewed at Monday’s meeting of the Press Supervisory Board, which suspended its licence.

The Yalasarat website announced on Wednesday January 6 that its 827th issue had been published and was available for purchase in news kiosks across the country.

The Ministry of Guidance and the Press Supervisory Board have not yet reacted to the publication of Yalasarat.

The new issue includes an article called “the black pages in the report card” of the president’s advisor on women and accusations of blackguarding by Molaverdi made by Abdulhamid Mohtasham, the editor of Yalasarat.

The publication also persists in its severe criticism of the Rohani administration and all its policies.

Molaverdi has denounced the statements of Yalasarat and described them as a systematic attack on women in leadership positions.

Mohtasham has also described the order of the Press Supervisory Board as “unfair” and stated that he has not officially received any orders.
