IRNA reports that Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif referred to the statement issued at the end of the talks in Lausanne, saying: “The set of solutions proposed in this statement can become the basis for the final nuclear agreement.”

The latest round of nuclear talks between Iran and the 5+1 ended on Thursday in Lausanne with the parties giving a joint statement about the framework agreement.
In a press conference in Tehran, Mohammd Javad Zarif thanked Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei for his “guidance” and “unmatched support of the negotiators”.

He also praised Iranian President Hassan Rohani for his “courageous support” of the nuclear negotiations.

Akbar Salehi, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency, also spoke at the press conference, thanking the Supreme Leader and the president and saying he now sees a “very bright” future ahead of the country.

Salehi also praised the foreign minister, saying Zarif’s presence at the head of Iran’s diplomatic body is “divine destiny”.

Iran’s Supreme Leader has not spoken regarding the result of the talks.

Hassan Shariatmadari, editor in chief of the Keyhan daily and a staunch critic of the Rohani administration, has already criticized the results of the talks as a loss for Iran.

The Fars News Agency has referred to the negotiations, saying there are some fundamental differences in the statements issued by Iran’s foreign ministry and those of its U.S. counterpart, adding that Iran must make a statement to clarify the differences.
