Mohammad Reza Nikfar has officially resigned as the editor-in-chief of Zamaneh. He will continue to work with Zamaneh and will devote more of his time to writing.
During his leadership, Nikfar transformed Zamaneh into a leading media. A generation of experienced traditional journalists united with the youth and digital natives familiar with the rules of online journalism and together, narrated the world’s most important issues and events to Zamaneh’s audience. Among Mohammad Reza Nikfar’s strengths was his focus on analytical observation, critique of major issues in Iran and world geography, and highlighting the role of intellect in current affairs. The culture of debate and dialogue and creating a working environment that was both cordial and committed are among Mohammad Reza Nikfar’s remarkable contributions to his colleagues at Zamaneh. During his tenure as editor-in-chief, Zamaneh transformed from a citizen media into an analytical and investigative medium all while preserving its original cultural and social identity.
A message of gratitude from Mohammad Reza Nikfar, former editor-in-chief of Zamaneh:

“After approximately twelve years of being the editor-in-chief of Zamaneh, I am stepping down. I will, however, continue to work with Zamaneh, and I believe that in this era, Zamaneh is the best place for engaging with an audience who think critically and choose what they read judiciously. Zamaneh holds a special place for the members of its central editorial team, its colleagues at the Amsterdam office, and its extensive network of collaborators in Iran and other countries. I am happy and honored to have worked with them and will continue to collaborate with them. Together, we have built an independent, freedom-seeking, and equality-seeking media that is committed to critiquing authority, discrimination, and injustice. May it always remain so.”
