The Shargh News Daily reports that these individuals have no convictions or police records and have been approved by the judiciary, the police and the registry, and yet they have been disqualified by the Guardian Council.

Of the 12,000 people who registered to run in the parliamentary elections, more than 8,000 were found ineligible by the Guardian Council. Reformists had 3,000 candidates in the elections and only 30 have been approved by the council,

Reformists have said they do not plan to boycott the elections and are waiting for the final list of candidates, which is to be published on February 6 following a review of the appeals.

The elections for Parliament and the Assembly of Experts will be held on February 26.
