The advisor to the Commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards has reiterated the Iranian Supreme Leader’s warnings about a change of attitude toward the United States among government officials who seek to reestablish relations with the U.S.
In a speech on Friday September 18, Commander Hamidreza Moghadamfar said: “A new divisive movement has found it way into the official bodies of the regime.”
IRNA reports that in the speech delivered prior to the Friday Mass Prayers in Tehran, Moghadamfar referred to the nuclear negotiations and the deal reached between Iran and the 5+1 in Vienna in July, saying: “The enemy is trying to use the totality of the Comprehensive Joint Action Plan and the negotiations as a bridge to reenter and infiltrate the country.”
He said there is an effort to convince the people and officials that “the United States is not a bad enemy”.
He warned that the enemy should not be allowed to infiltrate the country’s decision-making bodies.
Similar warning were issued by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, who said in a speech to Revolutionary Guards commanders on Wednesday that they should be on guard against the political and cultural infiltration of the country by the West.
