Queiroz was reportedly informed of the travel ban at Imam Khomeini International Airport, as he was setting out for Austria with the national team to take part in two friendly games, but he has now returned to Tehran.

ISNA reports that according to Queiroz’s contract, Iran’s Football Federation is responsible for paying his taxes.

The National Team is scheduled to play Chile and Sweden in two friendly games. Queiroz had announced earlier that these would be his last two games as head coach of the team.

Queiroz reacted to the news of the ban on his traveling abroad, saying that under the management of former federation chief Mohammad Mehdi Nabi, such a thing would never have happened.

There have been media reports of tension between Carlos Queiroz and the new head of Iran’s football federation, Ali Kafashian.
