The five-star tourist train Golden Eagle traveling from Hungary to Iran arrived in Tehran on Monday October 27, ending its first tour.
The 70 tourists onboard the train are mostly British or Australian and have paid anywhere between 10,000 and 24,000 euros for their two-week trip.
The train has 13 cars, all decorated lavishly in a 1950s style. The Golden Eagle departed from Budapest on October 15 and reached Iran after traveling through Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.
In Iran, the tourists travelled from Zanjan to Yazd, Isfahan and Shiraz before finally arriving in Tehran. The travelers will have two days to visit Tehran’s attractions before taking a flight back to their respective countries.
The Golden Eagle will leave Tehran for Budapest on Tuesday October 28 with new passengers.
