Workers’ grievance over minimum wage rejected by court
Court of Adminisitrative Justice

The Court of Administrative Justice has rejected a grievance filed by workers objecting to the low wages set by the government for the past year.

The Mehr News Agency reports that Ali Akbar Bakhtiyari, the head of the Court of Administrative Justice, said the court’s decision will be officially published in newspapers to inform the public.

He added that the court’s decision can be appealed within the next 20 days.

The workers filed their complaint against the minimum wage set by the government in March of 2013.

Last year, wages were raised by 25 percent, even though inflation had been pegged at 31.6 percent two months earlier. That prompted the workers to pursue their grievance against the inadequate minimum wage at the Court of Administrative Justice.
