Sima Film reports that it plans to produce a miniseries about the arrest and hanging of Abdolmalek Rigi, the late leader of Jundallah, which would depict the cooperation between Iran’s intelligence service and neighbouring countries that led to his capture.
The producers say their aim is to “show the strength of the intelligence ministry and the Islamic Republic regime.”
eports indicate, however, that Iranian national broadcaster Seda va Sima is faced with a budget shortfall, and despite the announcement that 69 series were ready for distribution in the New Year, so far none has been aired.
Abdolmalek Rigi was arrested in March of 2010 and executed in June of 2011. Jundallah is a militant group that identifies itself as a defender of Baluchi and Sunni minorities in Sistan-Baluchistan province but it says it has no separatist goals.
