Labor rights abuses occur daily in Iran, with no person, company, or institution held accountable. Attempts by domestic activists to protest these violations are often met with force. Advocacy groups have been limited by the lack of much needed on-the-ground information from within Iran in order to build their case and push for change in the international arena.
In response to these challenges, Zamaneh Media began to systematically monitor, analyze, and publish content on labor rights issues in Iran. This information is then consolidated into quarterly (previously bi-monthly) reports that provide a thematic overview and shed light on key areas of concern. In addition to the quarterly reports, Zamaneh Media also publishes special reports on specific labor topics and an annual report on May 1st (International Workers’ Day) every year. These reports – published in both Persian and English – are intended to facilitate knowledge sharing and the development of advocacy alliances in order to increase public pressure on Iran to adopt enforce internationally-recognized labor rights treaties.
