Iranian Freestyle Wrestling team attained its third victory in the 2014 Freestyle Wrestling World Cup on Saturday March 15 beating the American team five to three.
In the first day of the championships in Los Angeles, Iranian wrestlers beat their American counterpart in the 57, 61, 70, 97 and 125 kg categories and conceded defeat in the 65, 70 and 74 categories.
Earlier in the day the Iranian team also defeated Armenia 8-0 and Turkey 7-1 and then went on to beat India 8-0.
Pool A of the top 10 men’s freestyle wrestlers consisted of Iran, US, Armenia, Turkey and India. Pool B consists of Russia, Ukraine, Mongolia, Japan and Georgia.
Iran faces the winner of the Pool B on Sunday to vie for cup.
