U.S. lawmakers are refraining from placing further sanctions on Iran.
Reuters reports that the decision comes after U.S. President Barack Obama met with the senior members of the U.S. Senate and urged them to hold off on passing new sanctions on Iran.
The meeting with both Republican and Democrat senators reportedly lasted over two hours.
Obama urged the lawmakers to give a chance for the negotiations with Iran to reach an agreement.
The report indicates that approval of any further sanctions on Iran has, therefore, been delayed for at least a month.
