Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency are planning to resume negotiations in May according to diplomatic sources, AP and Reuters report.
AP reported on Friday April 19 that the negotiations will take place in mid-May, but so far the parties have not confirmed a mutually acceptable date.
This will be the tenth round of talks between Iran and the IAEA since the start of 2012.
The IAEA has found no concrete evidence that Iran may be violating terms of the Treaty on the Non-proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). The agency maintains, however, that neither can it guarantee that Iran’s nuclear program does not have a military component.
In the last round of negotiations, the IAEA asked to inspect Parchin Military Base, but Iran refused, arguing that it is not a nuclear site and that opening military sites to foreign inspectors would compromise the country’s security.
