Iranian crude exports to China declined by 24 percent in September compared to the same month last year, Reuters reports.
The report, published on Wednesday October 24, says information from Chinese customs reveals that China imported 382,400 barrels of Iranian oil in September of this year, down from 504,000 barrels in September of 2011.
On average since the beginning of 2012, Chinese oil imports from Iran have declined by 22 percent, the report adds.
The most significant drop occurred in the first three months of the year following disputes over the terms of their agreement.
Meanwhile, since the shipments are only being done with Iranian tankers, experts claim that some deliveries have fallen behind schedule.
Iran is facing widespread sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union. While many countries have boycotted its oil exports, shipping and insurance companies are also refusing to service Iranian oil shipments.
