Iranian leader rallies forces against external threats
Ayatollah Khamenei (centre)

Iran’s Supreme Leader announced that Iran will unleash its full strength as a response to any threat or aggression.

Iranian media report that Ayatollah Khamenei told students at the Military Academy today: “Iran will respond to any threat or aggression in a manner that would cause its invaders to implode internally.”

He added that the Islamic Republic will not remain a mere audience for threats made by “rotten powers.”

He went on to warn that any aggression against Iran will provoke a fierce response.

He called the military to full alert, adding that in the world today: “Only those nations that prove their complete defensive readiness can remain safe.”

The statement by Iran’s Supreme Leader follows a week of repeated Israeli threats against Iran.

Several senior Israeli officials, including the president, have announced that a military attack against Iran is imminent.

Israel insists that Iran’s nuclear program has a military component, and the International Atomic Energy Agency reports that it is not able to say with certainly that Iran’s nuclear activities are all peaceful.

Iran, on the other hand, insists that the IAEA report is biased, and claims Yukiya Amano, the head of the IAEA is under the thumb of the Untied States.

Iran maintains that the agency has found no concrete evidence of military activity in its nuclear program despite numerous inspections because Iran’s nuclear activities are fully peaceful.
