Iranian political prisoner, Fakhrosadat Mohtashamipour was transferred to hospital due to health complications arising from days of hunger strike.
Kaleme website reports that Fakhrosadat Mohtashamipour, member of the reformist party Islamic Iran Participation Front and wife of Mostafa Tajzadeh, another jailed reformist, began a hunger strike at the start of Norooz, Iranian New Year which began on March 21.
She has demanded visiting rights with her husband and went on hunger strike after being denied this right. According to Kaleme, Mohtashamipour was transferred to the hospital after she passed out following days of hunger strike.
Mohtashamipour was arrested in the opposition protests of March 1 and has been kept in solitary confinement at Evin Prison since.
She has reportedly written 80 letters to Tehran prosecutor to complain against the treatment of her husband in prison.
Fakhrosadat Mohtashamipour’s husband, Mostafa Tajzadeh, a challenger of the 2009 presidnetial elections, has sepnt the last six months in Evin Prison’s quarantine ward.
