Home of Iranian opposition leader sealed with iron bars
MirHosein Mousavi and Zahra Rahnavard

At the threshold of the next proposed anti-government demonstrations, security forces have begun sealing the entrance of the MirHosein Mousavi and Zahra Rahnavard’s home with an iron gate.

A number of civil servants and hospital workers in the vicinity have reported that the security officers are quickly covering the entrance with iron bars.

Iranian opposition has announced that it is planning further street protest in Tehran and other major cities on February 20 to commemorate the two people killed in the last demonstrations on Monday.

Rather than a public trial and legitimate sentencing which has been proposed by conservative members of the parliament for the opposition leaders, head of the Guardian Council has announced that the two opposition leaders must be sealed in their homes and prevented from issuing any more announcements.

Head of Iran’s judiciary, Ayatollah Sadegh Larijani also announced two days ago that the two opposition leaders have been abusing the “tolerance of the regime” by issuing announcements and from now on will be prevented from doing so.

Yesterday opposition websites reported that MirHosein Mousavi and Zahra Rahnavard have been completely cut off from outside contact and their daughters, who say there is no guarantee that their parents are even in their home anymore, have expressed grave concern about their well being.
