Four days after Britain lifted its sanctions on the National Iranian Tanker Company, the European Union has cancelled its own punitive measures against the company.
Company lawyer Ravin Chandra told Reuters on Tuesday October 7 that no appeal has been filed since a European court ruled that the sanctions against the company must be lifted, clearing the way for the EU to do just that.
In July, the European Public Court in Luxembourg ruled that there is not sufficient evidence to justify sanctions against a number of Iranian individuals and companies.
The report cites the Moallem Insurance Company, Sina Bank, Babak Zanjani and Sorint Company as other entities that, according to the ruling, should not be the target of European sanctions.
