Contract workers with the Ahwaz Metro Project, who have been on strike for the past four days, have now been threatened by management with the loss of their jobs.
More than 150 workers with the metro project have been joined by workers from other sections of this project to protest that their wages have gone unpaid for over four months.
While operations managers reportedly have been threatening workers with termination, the chief executive officer of the company has promised workers that he will address their demands and pay their wages soon.
The project employs more than 900 workers on day and night shifts.
