As Iran and the 5+1 meet in New York for further nuclear talks, the International Atomic Energy Agency confirmed in its latest monthly report that Iran is meeting its commitment outlined in the Articles of Agreement reached last November in Geneva.
Since the November agreement, the IAEA, which is charged with monitoring Iran’s nuclear program, has been issuing monthly reports on the level of Iran’s compliance with the agreement.
Iran has consistently maintained that its nuclear program is peaceful, and Iran’s Supreme Leader has repeatedly stated that nuclear weapons are against Islamic values.
While Western leaders have been calling for more flexibility on Iran’s part, Iranians have been accusing the West of excessive and unrealistic demands.
Both sides are currently meeting in New York around the latest session of the UN General Assembly, trying to draft a comprehensive final deal.
