Iran’s Guardian Council has put its seal of approval on the presidential election, finalizing the legitimacy of Hassan Rohani’s victory.

The council announced its approval on Wednesday June 19 in an official statement that confirmed Rohani as the official winner of the eleventh presidential election.

Rohani won the election with 50.7 percent of the vote, defeating his five rivals in the race.

Rohani will take over the administration in early August, after which he will have a 10-day window to introduce his cabinet.
