Amin Anvari, an activist and student at Amir Kabir University, was arrested by Islamic Republic police on Sunday October 4.
The Human Rights Activists News Agency reports that the police arrived at Amin Anvari’s home with a warrant and arrested him after searching the premises and confiscating some of his belongings, including his laptop and cellphone.
Anvari was also arrested last December and was later released on bail of 30 million toumans. He was charged with “propaganda against the regime, insulting the leader and insulting Mohammad Taghi Mesbah Yazdi on Facebook”.
Mesbah Yazdi is an influential hard-liner and a member of the Iranian clergy, the Assembly of Experts and the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution.
Anvari, a 21-year-old student, is in the fifth term of his software engineering program at Amir Kabir University.
