The meeting to determine the minimum wage for workers is to be held without labour representatives, labour advocates report.
Faramarz Tofighi told Tasnim that the Supreme Labour Council will meet next Tuesday and no invitations have been extended to labour representatives.
Tofighi added that the official worker representatives, whose names were submitted to the council last March, have not been included among the meeting attendees.
There has been much criticism of the official minimum wage for labourers and its failure to keep up with inflation. Expert reports put the minimum expenses of a family of four at 3.2 million toumans per month, but the minimum wage so far is 712,000 toumans.
Tofighi said the minimum wage rate may be finalized this week, which would rob labour representatives of any chance to even comment on the issue.
