While the final results of the vote count remain unannounced in Tehran reports indicate that at least five women from other cities have managed to enter the next parliament.

Zahra Saidi form Mobarakeh in Isfahan and Sakineh Almasi from Bandar Deyr in Bushehr have won majority of the votes in their ridings.

Meanwhile Hamideh Zarabadi, a reformist candidate, tops the list in Qazvin, Zohreh Salari in Kerman and Hajar Chenarani in Neyshapour.

Women candidates in Borojen, Saveh, Shabestar, Boroujerd and Ilam have a strong standing in the second round of counting.

In Tehran where reformists and conservatives each endorsed six women candidates, five women remain in the top thirty candidates however the rest of the count may alter their position.
