Iran and the 5+1 have reached a historic deal in Geneva over Iran’s nuclear program with Iran accepting to limiting its uranium enrichment activities to the five percent grade in exchange for gradual easing of international sanctions against the country.
US secretary of State John Kerry as well as foreign minister of Russia, China, Germany, France and Britain arrived in Geneva yesterday to forge an agreement after days of intese talks.
The US president hailed the agreement as a significant step ahead, saying the provisions agreed upon “cut off Iran’s most likely paths to a bomb.”
Iran has consistently rejected allegations that its nuclear program may have a military component and the Iranian leader has on many occasions denounced the use of nuclear weapons describing it unethical and against Islamic law.
This is the first time in past years that the world powers have reached an agreement with Iran over its nuclear activities.
