Opposition leaders’ daughters have better visit

The daughters of MirHosein Mousavi and Zahra Rahnavard have met once again with their parents, after the events of their last meeting triggered serious controversy.

During their last visit, Zahra and Nargess Mousavi reported being assaulted by one of the Intelligence Ministry guards. Their parents have been under house arrest since February 2011, and all visitors are subject to body searches.

Kaleme reports that this latest visit was carried out in an appropriate manner. During the last visit, the daughters claim to have been assaulted by one of the female guards during the search.

The Ministry of Intelligence rejected the reports, saying the Mousavi sisters were the assailants.

Many top reformist figures criticized the president for not reacting to the event.

Kaleme reports that other than the male officers that are usually there, “only one female officer was present” at the one-hour meeting that took place at the safe house established by the Ministry of Intelligence next to the home of Mousavi and Rahnavard.
