Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s helicopter had to make an emergency landing as it was taking the Iranian president and other officials to observe construction work on the country’s longest tunnel.
The presidential delegation was visiting the construction site in the heights of the Alborz Mountain Range.
Reports indicate that all passengers are safe and the president has left for Tehran by land.
The cause of the accident has not been announced, and the helicopter is now grounded for mechanical inspections and repairs.
