Iranian judiciary announced the execution of two individuals convicted of espionage today Sunday May 19 in Tehran for “links to foreign intelligence services.” Tehran Prosecutors office identified the two individuals as “Mohammad Heydari” and “Kourosh Ahmadi.”

The office claims that Heydari “transferred avarious data regarding national security and secrets to Mossad elements on several occasion outside the country in exchange for monetary payments.”

According to the announcement, Kourosh Ahmadi “contacted the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States to pass on various gathered data.”

The prosecutor’s office adds that the two were tried in court in the presence of thier legal presentation. The judge reportedly assessed their actions at the level of enmity against God and sentenced them to death which was later approved by the Supreme Court.

Earlier the judiciary had announced that they had arrested a group of suspected US and Israeli spies linked to the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientists but it was not announced if the two executions of today were connected with these arrests.
