ILNA reports that the application for a permit to hold a march on Worker’s Day was denied by the government, even though the application was submitted by the government organization House of Workers.
Workers held gatherings in the capital and various other Iranian cities, and top concerns included low wages and the lack of job security.
Iranian labour groups report that the government has refused to help workers hold May Day events for more than five years.
