According to IRNA, Babol officials reported on Saturday April 2 that floods have affected streets, and mudslides are also occurring in the region.

Many rural roads in Amol, Savad Kouh, Noor, Babol and Noshahr have also been blocked.

Heavy rains are expected to continue throughout Saturday. In the past 12 days, Mazandaran has had over 80 mm of rain, which is said to represent 10 percent of the province’s annual precipitation.

Floods across Iran have affected several regions of the country, causing at least two deaths. Meanwhile, two people including an 11-year-old child are missing.
