The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reports that the blogger’s father has been charged with disseminating falsehoods by giving interviews and writing correspondence about his son’s situation.

Ahmad Ronaghi Maleki’s sentence has been reportedly issued in absentia and served upon him.

Although Hossein Ronaghi Maleki was recently released for medical reasons, there are reports that he may have to return to prison again.

Hossein Ronaghi Maleki was caught up in the wave of arrests that followed the controversial election of 2009, and according to his family, he was held in solitary confinement for more than 300 days.

He was sentenced to 15 years in jail for his media activities. His family has been calling for his release due to the serious nature of his health problems, which render him unfit to endure incarceration.
