The sixth round of nuclear talks between Iran and the world powers is set for July 2 to July 20, says senior Iranian diplomat Abbas Araghchi.
The Fars News Agency reports that this round of talks is supposed to yield a draft of the comprehensive nuclear agreement between the parties; it would be written by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton.
In the last round of talks, Mohammd Javad Zarif reported that the two sides still have major points of disagreement regarding the content and format of the final agreement.
The final agreement is supposed to lead to the gradual lifting of international sanctions against Iran in exchange for Iran’s suspension of certain nuclear activities.
Reports say there has been “a difference of opinion regarding the number of centrifuges that should operate in Iran.” Decisions regarding the Arak Heavy Water Reactor are also the subject of disagreement.
