The lawyer for detained Iranian journalist Saba Azarpeyk reports that the judiciary has renewed the temporary arrest warrant for his client.
In an interview with IRNA, Mahmoud Alizadeh Tabatabayi said the one-month temporary arrest warrant for Azarpeyk expired on Friday June 27 and the media court has now renewed the warrant.
The lawyer said that the charge against Saba Azarpeyk is “propaganda activities against the regime.”
Azarpeyk was arrested in May at the offices of the weekly magazine Tejarat Farda.
One hundred and forty-seven journalists have issued a statement calling her arrest “illegal” and demanding her immediate release.
