The Iranian National Soccer Team’s first game at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil ended on Monday with no goals scored by Iran or Nigeria.
The African team controlled the ball for most of the game; however, the Iranian team managed to fend off their attacks.
Iran will face Argentina on June 21 and Bosnia on June 25.
Argentina now sits at the top of Group F, having beat Bosnia 2-1 on Sunday.
Prior to the Iran-Nigeria game, a group of Iranian-team supporters took to the streets of Curitiba, waving an Iranian flag and expressing their joy at their team’s presence at the World Cup.
