A spokesman for Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee reports that top diplomat Abbas Araghchi has announced that the world powers have taken a “firm decision” to begin the final draft of the agreement over nuclear issues with Iran.
Hossein Naqavi Hosseini quoted Araghchi as saying: “Both sides are determined to begin drafting the final agreement at the next meeting in Vienna.”
The next round of talks between the 5+1 and Iran will begin on June 16 in Vienna. In recent weeks, Iranian negotiators have met with various representatives of the 5+1 and then announced that those talks have been positive.
Araghchi has been quoted as saying that the US has shown eagerness to reach an agreement by July 20, the deadline that was set forth in the interim accord reached last November in Geneva.
Naghavi Hosseini has said that the issues still under debate include : “the level of uranium enrichment; the quantity, type and generation of centrifuges; the Arak heavy water reactor; the quality and limits of nuclear research, and the process and timeline for removing sanctions.”
