The chairman of the Article 90 Cultural Committee of Parliament and two other committee members will travel to Brazil to make sure Iranian spectators comply with “Islamic behaviour.”
Hossein Azin said: “Iran’s presence at the World Cup is a big international matter… and representatives are sent to Brazil to make sure cultural and Islamic customs are observed.”
He stressed that monitoring the behaviour of the national team members and their companions was another responsibility of the committee, adding that there are detailed plans to monitor the spectators as well.
Azin told reporters that he does not know who will provide the budget for his delegation.
Some media outlets have reported that the head of Parliament, Ali Larijani, has expressed his opposition to sending such a delegation to Brazil.
