The office of Iran’s Administrative Court has announced that it has dismissed a grievance filed by workers regarding the inadequacy of the minimum wage in the past year.
ISNA reports that labour activists had forwarded the grievance to the special review division of the court, which has now finalized its dismissal of the matter.
Last year, workers were given a 25-percent wage increase, which was supposed to let wages keep up with inflation. Workers claimed that the 25-percent increase was inadequate in view of the 31.6-percent inflation rate announced in the last months of the calendar year.
The administrative court has not given its reasons for dismissing the grievance.
