Ahmadreza Haeri, a representative of the families of political prisoners, has been released after 10 days in custody.
The Neday-e Sabz Azadi website reports that Ahmadreza Haeri, brother of political prisoner Saeed Haeri, was released on the night of Monday May 26.
Ahmadreza Haeri was acting as a representative of the families of political prisoners in Ward 350 of Evin Prison; those families had held sit-ins demanding accountability for the recent attack on their relatives by prison guards.
On Thursday April 17, security forces and more than 100 soldiers on prison guard duty attacked the political prisoners in Ward 350 of Evin and seriously beat and injured more than 30 prisoners, many of whom were transferred to solitary confinement.
Last week, Ahmadreza Haeri’s father met with Speaker of Parliament Ali Larijani to plead the case of his two sons.
