Iranian filmmaker and journalist Mohammad Nourizad was arrested in Shiraz while meeting with a number of civil activists, including Gonabadi dervishes, at the Hafez Mausoleum.
Majzooban Noor, a website linked to Gonabadi dervishes, reports that Mohammad Nourizad was arrested along with Pourya Nouri, the brother of jailed Gonabadi dervish Kasra Nouri, as they were exiting the Mausoleum.
The report adds that three other Gonabadi dervishes were also briefly arrested by the morality police and released after hours of interrogation.
Pourya Nouri has also been reportedly released; however, the location of Mohammad Nourizad has not been officially announced.
The report adds that the prominent filmmaker and government critic was planning on visiting the families of a number of jailed Gonabadi dervishes.
Nourizad was arrested in the election protests of 2009 for writing a series of letters to Iran’s Supreme Leader that criticized his handling of the election protests.
