Ali Jannati, Iran’s Minister of Culture and Guidance, announced that his ministry is in talks with the fine arts auction house Christie's to arrange an auction on Kish Island in Iran.
Khabaronline reports that Jannati said: “Having a Christie’s auction would be an opportunity for our artists to put their works up for sale.”
He said such an event would also bring artists from other countries to Iran, which would be highly advantageous for the country.
A Christie’s auction in the Middle East is held twice a year in Dubai.
