Nasim Baqeri, a lecturer of Virtual University of Baha’is, was arrested on Sunday April 27 to serve out a judicial verdict.
HRANA reports that Baqeri was arrested at around 7 AM on Sunday by four Intelligence ministry officers who also searched her home.
Baqeri has been sentenced to four years in jail for “propaganda against the regime and acting against national security through membership in an illegal institution.”
The Virtual University of Baha’is is an organization that provides educational services to Baha’i students who have been denied entry into regular Iranian universities; however, Islamic Republic authorities have declared it an illegal organization.
