Mansour Katanbaf, the mayor of Region 20 of Tehran, has announced that 100 hectares of space in southern Tehran will be turned into park and green space.
IRNA reports that Katanbaf says the top priorities of his administration are public transit, revitalizing old infrastructure and promoting green spaces in the area.
Katanbaf added that the southern parts of Tehran has the highest per capita rate of green space compared to the rest of the capital.
He stated that 100 hectares will be turned into urban parks, green spaces, highways, development, forestry and recreational spaces.
