Amnesty International has expressed its concern that two Iranian-Arab prisoners in Ahwaz may be on the brink of being executed.
Amnesty International reports that the families of prisoners Ali Chebeishat and Seyed Khaled Mousavi have been informed by the Dezfool Fajr Prison that the two prisoners have been transferred from prison by the Ahwaz Intelligence office with no reason given.
The two prisoners were arrested in Shoosh in 2012 and were given the death penalty by the Ahwaz Revolutionary Court for the charges of acting against national security and enmity against God.
Radio Zamaneh was told by Karim Dahimi, a human rights activist, that the two prisoners had been subjected to torture during arrest.
Salman Chayani, another Iranian-Arab citizen, was tried with Ali Chebeishat and Seyyed Khaled Mousavi and given a 25-year sentence.
The three sentences reportedly have not yet been confirmed by the appellate court.
