After Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei alerted Iranian cultural officials to “dangerous cultural invasions” and called on them to take defensive action, Iran’s minister of culture and guidance spoke in support of the leader’s cultural insights and supported policies of censorship.
In an interview with Nasim-on-line, Ali Jannati praised the vision of Ayatollah Khamenei and urged all cultural administrators to make efforts to reform the country's popular culture.
He went on to refer to Ayatollah Khamenei as a sharp “watchdog recording all cultural threats from the enemies” and once more praised his guidance.
He called on all cultural administrators across the country to work hard at promoting Islamic culture and values.
Ayatollah Khamenei in his New Year speech stressed that cultural matters take precedence over even economic issues since they influence people’s daily behaviour and habits.
