On the eve of Norooz, the jailed Iranian journalist and human rights activist Khosro Kordpour was transferred to Tabriz central prison.
The Mukerian News Agency reported on Wednesday March 19 that authorities transferred Khosro Kordpour, the managing director of Mukerian News, to Tabriz Prison, adding that the transfer was done without the prior knowledge of Kordpour’s lawyer or family.
Khosro Kordpour has been in jail for a year, after being sentenced to one year for propaganda activities against the regime, five years in jail in exile in Tabriz for assembly and collusion, and two years of exile in Kerman after his release.
Massoud Kordpour, brother of Khosro Kordpour is also in jail for his journalistic activities and serving a three-year sentence in Mahabad Prison.
Khosro Kordpour is now in the Tabriz Prison quarantine, while his brother Massoud Korpour remains in Mahabad Prison.
