Iran plans to build two more nuclear power generators with its Russian partners, the Tasnim website reports.
Behrouz Kamalvandi, a spokesman for the Iran Atomic Energy Agency, reported on Wednesday March 12 that the agency has reached a preliminary agreement to build at least two 1,000-megawatt reactors beside the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant.
The head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency had reported earlier that Iran and Russia were in the process of negotiating the “next power plant.”
According to Kamalvandi, the final agreement has not been drafted and will have to be approved by Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency, and Rosatom chief Sergey Kiriyenko.
