Four detained Gonabadi Dervishes have finally been given a trial after spending 10 months in Shiraz’s Adelabad Prison.
The Majzooban Noor website reports that on Thursday morning February 13, Mohsen Esmaili, Ebrahim Bahrami, Mohammdali Sadeghi and Mohammdali Dehghan stood trial for the charges of “forming a terrorist group against the regime, participating in seditious gatherings, enmity against God and carrying weapons.”
The report indicates that the defence attorney’s attempts to secure discovery and access to all the state’s evidence were not successful.
A group of Gonabadi Dervishes gathered in front of the court during the trial. The detained Gonabadi dervishes were reportedly arrested following an attack on their members by Basij forces.
