The head of foreign policy for the European Union and the Iranian foreign ministry have announced that the next meeting between Iran and the 5+1 will be held in Vienna.
The EU’s Catherine Ashton told ISNA and Reuters that the nuclear negotiations will take place on February 18 at the UN headquarters in the Austrian capital.
The Iranian foreign minister has also confirmed the date and place of the meeting to IRNA.
Ashton and Zarif held talks on the sidelines of the Munich security conference on Friday January 31 before meeting the press.
There had been earlier reports that the next round of talks would be held in New York, but Iranian officials insisted that the date and place of the talks had not yet been set.
Today’s announcement about the logistics of the meeting was also confirmed by the U.S. Department of State.
