Massoumeh Ebtekar
The head of Iran’s Department of the Environment, Massoumeh Ebtekar, has been awarded the Energy Globe Award in recognition of her lifelong efforts to protect the environment.
The founder of the Energy Globe Foundation, Wolfgang Neumann, presented Ebtekar with the award in Tehran, saying she had earned the award by pushing for sustainable energy use despite numerous economic problems faced by her country, IRNA reports.
The Energy Globe Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1999 with the goal of providing incentives for successful sustainable projects to resolve environmental problems.
