Iranian student activists Zia Nabavi and Arash Mohammadi were given furloughs on Wednesday January 22.
Nabavi, the spokesman for the Council for the Defence of the Right to Education, has been serving his sentence in exile in Karoon Prison, and Arash Mohammadi was released from Tabriz central prison.
The Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reports that Nabavi has been serving a 10-year sentence in exile since 2009, and this furlough, his first, will only last five days.
Arash Mohammadi was arrested last June and sentenced to one year in prison, and this four-day break from jail is his first furlough.
